LBI Bike Shop Wins National Excellence Award

Shore Brake Cyclery, located in Brant Beach, is one of 111 bicycle stores in North America to receive the Excellence Bicycle Retailer Award, the store announced.

The Bicycle Retailer Excellence Award is a rebrand of the former America’s Best Bike Shops Award program, updated in 2021 to focus more on inclusivity and diversity. Recipients are recognized and rewarded not only for their excellence in retail, but also for their integrity, inclusiveness, spirit and commitment to increasing traffic.

Shore Brake Cyclery was also a recipient of the Best Bike Shops Award in 2019 and 2020.

“It is truly an honor to be recognized by the National Bicycle Dealers Association with this award,” Charlie Kulp, owner of Shore Brake Cyclery, said in a statement. “We strive to make a difference in the life of each of our customers, whether they are already passionate about cycling or just starting out. Providing a welcoming experience to all customers would not be possible without our dedicated and passionate staff. We love what we do and pride ourselves on providing our customers with the best experience every time they enter our store.

“Our vision with the Bicycle Retailer Excellence Award, as with all of our programs, is to lead the bicycle
retailers to excellence,” said NBDA President Heather Mason. “We were grateful to share the responses of retailer apps as examples of excellence with the industry at large via our
podcast and other vehicles. Congratulations and thanks to all of this year’s participants.
We look forward to recognizing our Retail Excellence this summer. »

The 111 winning retailers will be recognized during a live ceremony at the Big Gear Show in Park City, Utah in August.

Shore Brake Cyclery is a local family bike shop founded in 2016, committed to serving cyclists of all types, the store said. Shore Brake Cyclery proudly carries Trek, Cervélo, Fuji, Tuesday, Felt, Sun, Surly, All-City and SE bikes, while offering full repair service for all makes and models, according to the store.
