Opening of a new bicycle shop in Eagle River | Local News

Eagle River, Wis. (WJFW) – A few months ago Eagle River lost a bike shop, on Monday they opened a new one.

“There was a void when the bike shop that used to be in Eagle River closed last fall, so that opened up the possibility for us to open a bike shop, to go along with our boat rental and yacht club” , said Dutch Dieck. .

Dutch Dieck is the branch manager of Your Boat Club and he is thrilled with a new venture.

“The ability to get more people up the Northwoods, whether it’s by bike or by boat, suits us perfectly,” Dieck said.

Finding the right tool for your bike won’t be a problem here, they’ve got everything from helmets to handlebars to make sure you’ll be out on the trails.

“We rent bikes, we sell bikes, we service bikes, we have bike accessories and that will continue to grow,” he stressed.

Cycling is for everyone, everyone can do it. It’s simple to do and it’s a perfect way to get a good workout.

“We’re getting more and more interested in cycling because people like to be in shape,” Dutch said. “It’s a much healthier alternative to jogging, not that jogging is bad, but it’s high impact.

Dutch says everyone will love this bike shop because of everything it has to offer.

“There’s a bike for everyone, from little kids to people my age,” he said.

Dutch recently met with the local Bike Trail Association and will meet in Lincoln Township on Tuesday to work out the approval process, this is part of an effort to connect Eagle River to the heart of Vilas’ bike trail system.
