Share wheels donating used bike parts for an art project competition

Sharing Wheels Community Bike Shop is a non-profit organization in Everett that repairs, distributes and manufactures great used bikes for children and adults. This week the store is announcing a Bike Art Contest. Here are the details.

Artists, Families, and Creators of All Kinds: Use our excess bicycle parts to create beautiful and whimsical works of art.

The rules
Register before October 3. The $ 10 fee is used for pricing and covers our costs.
Collection of parts in store. Bike parts and doo-dads galore will be available for pickup in Everett from October 6-10 (we’ll send you details).
Be creative. Use only bicycle accessories or add other recycled materials. Enjoy.
Submit the artwork by November 14th. We will collect all the parts at the store to show them virtually (and in person, if possible).
Price. We will be doing a poll for the People’s Choice Awards and we will also be awarding a $ 200 Sharing Wheels gift certificate per random draw among all entrants.

Last year’s first place winner was Diana Halar, who made a table from reclaimed wood, bicycle tires and bicycle rims with a light mosaic of a bicycle using bicycle chains for them. tires.
